Jacob installs an Xtracycle in the Rock the Bike workshop

Rock the Bike installs more Xtracycle Sport Utility Bikes than any other Bay Area dealer. We are also the only dealer that offers customers a self-install option. In the photo above, Jacob is doing his own installation, with our guidance. When a customer does a self-install, we interview them a little bit to determine their skill level and set a fee that accounts for the time we spend helping. Self-install fees range from $30 to $75 (same as a full price installation but with informal instruction along the way). Of course, we provide all the tools, tea, repair stand, and groovy music in the Rock the Bike workshop.

We also make sure to call the customer a week beforehand, asking questions and inspecting their bike -- the brakes, the drivetrain, the BB, the headset, the paint job. Installing a FreeRadical is a good time to make these various upgrades. We can order the parts to arrive a day before the installation, so that it goes smoothly. We also keep an inventory of certain staples, such as chain and cable housing. The shifting and pedaling are usually better than then the bicycle rolls into our shop.

Call us at 888-354-BIKE to schedule your Xtracycle build, and have us hold your Xtracycle FreeRadical at our workshop. You'll also save on shipping when you do it this way. Installation can delay you from getting the most out of this amazing product. So do yourself a favor, and get help from the pros.
